Sevenson is proud to announce that our Project Team is the recipient of WEDA’s 2026 Environmental Excellence Award for an Environmental-based, Beneficial Use-Focused Project Utilizing Dredging for the work we are nearing completion on the University Lakes Restoration Program in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

WEDA's Environmental Excellence Awards are annual honors presented by the Western Dredging Association to recognize outstanding dredging projects demonstrating environmental protection, innovation, sustainability, and efficient navigation or remediation goals.

On the University Lakes project Sevenson has completed the mechanical and hydraulic dredging of more than 700,000 CY of sediment across six interconnected lakes. Processed sediment is beneficially reused across the site to reconstruct and stabilize shoreline features; build containment berms and confined disposal features that support sediment management and water control; create island structures and bird habitat areas; and establish final grades necessary for long-term landscape restoration and public use areas.

We are honored and proud of the entire project team whose dedication made this achievement possible.
